Two students from Sheffield
University celebrated their academic performance
in financial reporting, thanks to local accountants,
Landin Wilcock & Co.
The Sheffield-based firm sponsors’ two
prizes for management school graduates and this
year newly qualified Chartered Accountant Dawn
Preston represented the firm to present the awards.
Dawn was a former graduate of the management school
herself and relished the prospect of returning
to congratulate the students on their awards.
The Landin Wilcock prize for ‘best performance
in financial and reporting theory’ was awarded
to Ms V Panaouta.
Mr A Biddle won the firm’s further prize
for ‘best performance in advances in financial
reporting’. Both are third year Sheffield
University students and graduated with BA honours.
Dawn Preston, an employee of Landin Wilcock,
presented the awards. She said: “As a former
graduate of the management school myself, I am
pleased to be able to return to honour the achievements
of two such high achieving students. I have no
doubt that they will be looking forward to the
future with confidence and enthusiasm.
Landin Wilcock has forged excellent links with
Sheffield University and is in its fifth year
of prize sponsorship. The firm is also a keen
supporter of accountancy graduates and has recently
appointed a further trainee who studied at the
University.
